Radhastami marks the divine appearance of Srimati Radharani, the personification of Krishna’s internal pleasure potency (hladini-shakti). Because Krishna is difficult to approach directly, devotees pray for the mercy of Radharani, whose unconditional love easily wins the Lord's heart. Celebrating Radhastami is our opportunity to surrender unto Her lotus feet and pray for pure devotional service.
Radharani is hari-priya, “very dear to Krishna.” Approaching Krishna becomes very easy when done through Radharani, through the mercy of Radharani. If Radharani recommends, “This devotee is very nice,” then Krishna immediately accepts us, however great a fool we may be. Because we have been recommended by Radharani, Krishna accepts us.
